Sponsors  & Recipients of CACP Scholarships

The Scholarship Program was set up in 1999 as part of CACP's effort to nurture the future construction professionals.  Every year, CACP coordinates multiple scholarships awarded to architectural and engineering students who have demonstrated great academic achievement and potential to succeed in the construction profession.  As of today, thirty eight (38) $1,000, one (1) $2,000 and three (3) $5,000 scholarships have been awarded to deserving recipients.

All scholarships are sponsored by construction-related enterprises or other corporations that have strong business relation with the Chinese development industry.  To honor these generous sponsors, each scholarship is named after the corporate name of that sponsor.

Applicant must be:

(1) A full-time junior or senior year or graduate student in the majors of architecture, engineering, design, and related construction fields.

(2) One who has maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last two semesters or three quarters. 

Please provide the following:

(1) A completed 2008 CACP Scholarship Application Form.

· Please make sure that your application is complete. Any important information missing from your application will disqualify you as a potential scholarship recipient.

(2) Transcripts­ - For the last two semesters or three quarters.

· Please make sure that the transcripts you submit are official. Unofficial transcripts and/or copies of the original transcript will not be acceptable.

(3) Statement of Qualifications - Briefly explain why you feel you are the best candidate for the scholarship.

· Please limit your statement to 500 words and make sure you explain why you deserve the scholarship more than other potential candidates.

(4) Recommendation Letters - From at least two faculty members. 

· Please be sure to use teachers that are related to the architectural, engineering or construction field you are majoring in.

Complete application package must be received at the CACP office (see address at the top) no later than 5 p.m., June 13 , 2008. Please DO NOT FAX your application, it will be considered invalid.

Applicants will be notified of the result by mail no later than June 30, 2008.  Names of the recipients will be posted on our website and newsletter. The scholarships will be awarded at CACP’s Annual Awards and Installation Banquet in the summer on July 12, 2008. Recipients must attend the banquet and receive the award in person.
